1 Thessalonians 3:3-4

In this narrative, Paul is reminding us that we will face resistance when you become a Disciple of Jesus Christ. Worshiping, Serving, and Celebrating are Spiritual Disciplines that we should practice in order to stand firm when times get tough. We need to remember that our Lord God is always faithful.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-22

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances…”

Paul is giving the people of Thessalonica an attitude for living. Joy is not when everything is going right; it is that feeling of peace when everything is going wrong. Praying without ceasing is not constantly talking to God; it is feeling connected to God. Being thankful is the attitude of gratitude – seeing God’s light in every darkness.
