2 Corinthians 9:6-8

“…God loves a cheerful giver.”

There is a legend about a man who finds the barn where Satan keeps the seeds he sows in the hearts of human beings. On looking through the barn, the man discovers the bins holding the seeds of discouragement are full to overflowing. The man asks Satan, “Why are these seeds more numerous than the others?” Satan proudly responds, “These seeds can take root and be grown almost anywhere.” The man asked, “Almost anywhere? Is there any place where these seeds will not thrive?” Satan reluctantly answered, “In the heart of a grateful person.” Gratitude is our greatest tool in overcoming the discontentment of greed.
