4th & 5th Grade Sunday School
The fourth and fifth grade Sunday School classes use Sparkhouse Connect Curriculum that was developed specifically for tweens. Connect grows with preteens, helping them make sense of the Bible, and encouraging them to ask questions, make connections, and reflect. Each week, tweens focus on a Bible lesson by watching a video, exploring biblical text, and creating projects that range from games to art and more. Connect is a two year Bible based curriculum that explores both the Old and New Testament. Students will gain a strong Biblical foundation and discover how the Bible relates to their own lives.
4th & 5th Grade Bible Camp 2.0
New this year is “Go Deeper” for 2nd year Bible campers! This will be a chance to deepen your bible knowledge and spend a Friday/Saturday night at Glenlake Church Camp.
Faith Formation & Fun
Faith Formation and Fun events focus on helping Tweens grow in the personal relationship with Jesus Christ and their relationship with their church family. Tweens experience worship and devotion time together. They participate in mission projects and fun activities that foster team building with the adult mentors and other Tweens. They learn keeping their eyes on Jesus is fun and essential to a balanced life. Tweens are encouraged to invite schoolmates and guests to all Tween events.
Team Acolyte will begin in the fall and students entering 4th, 5th and 6th grade are invited to serve as Acolytes following Acolyte training. Students will learn the importance of bringing the light of Christ in and taking it out to the world. To serve as an Acolyte, you must have attended training once and are welcome to attend again as a refresher. Anyone who is at least a 4th grader and attended training can serve, youth, young adult or adults are welcome.
Tween Mission Trip
Every summer, students that have completed 4th and 5th grade are invited to participate in the tween mission trip. The tween mission trip is designed to encourage students to answer Christ’s call to be his hands and feet in service to the world. Various community service projects, Christ-centered worship, devotions, fellowship and fun are part of the daily activities. The goal for the tween mission trip is to be a transformative experience for the tweens, our clients in our community and the mentor adults.
