Wren Robinson
Director of Worship Arts
Role at First Church:
Director of Music and Worship
Started on Staff:
February 12, 2006
Education/Background:
Wren received his college education at Northern Oklahoma College, Oklahoma Baptist University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Wichita State University. In addition to leading worship, choir and instrumentalists, Wren has also been involved in musical drama and has taught vocal music and music theory at two colleges. Wren’s musical expertise is complimented by his knowledge of sound systems and multi-media technology. Wren has worked in a variety of churches and denominations over the last 20 years.
Family:
Wife, Jill; children, Jennifer, Neely, and Christopher; grandchildren: Addison Rae, Greyden Cole
Favorite Scripture and Why:
It's ALL good but here are two significant:
Luke 9:62 "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God." Besides having plowed ground and learning what happens when you always look back, this verse came at a crossroads in life when looking forward meant the world.
Psalm 34:1-3 "I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together." It's what I do (or at least try to do).
Favorite Movie:
"The Goonies" It's just plain fun!
What I like best about my ministry:
There's always something else to do.
For fun I enjoy:
Golf, Fishing, Hiking, Audio/Music Production & Recording, Taxiing my lovely wife around on a Saturday morning.
