Why are we doing a pictorial directory?
For one thing, it helps build community. There are so many new people around, it will be great to put faces with names! Pictorial Directories also provide a "snapshot" of what the church is like for future generations. And it's free... so why not?!
How did we decide on Olan Mills?
The individuals who signed up to help with the Pictorial Directory through last fall’s Transformed Living campaign met together to decide on which company to use. We researched various companies and had representatives come and present us with information regarding their directory programs. After these interviews and further negotiation, the Pictorial Directory Team chose Olan Mills as the best company to fit our needs and offer you the best portraits for your money.
Do I have to buy something?
No. There is no obligation or pressure to buy anything. You will receive a free 8"x10" portrait of your choice, plus a printed church directory and an additional directory on CD.
When are the photography sessions?
The photography sessions are April 7-12, and April 24-26. Sessions go from 3:00 to 9:20 PM on weekdays and 10:00 AM to 4:50 PM on Saturdays. If you want your portraits back in time to give as a Mother’s Day gift, you should schedule your session during the first week of photography (April 7-12).
How long will the photography session take?
About 45 minutes to an hour. This includes the time it takes you to decide on which pose you like.
How do I make my appointment?
Appointment scheduling has now ended. A limited number of appointments may still be available - call Melissia in the church officate at 817-481-2559 x109 to check availability.
Will you remind me of my appointment?
If you signed up online, you will receive an e-mail reminder of your appointment. If you sign up on Sunday morning, you will receive a phone call reminder and a postcard reminder if you choose.
What if I don't want my information printed in the directory?
If you want to be unlisted in the church directory, please contact Membership Secretary Cheri Rutledge (817-481-2559 x110).
How much do the portrait packages cost?
Your first 8” x 10” is free. Prices for additional portraits vary, but as an example: 8” x 10” portraits cost $20, sets of wallets cost $20, 11” x 14” portraits cost $30. We have made every effort to choose a company that provides affordable portraits. You will be provided with a complete price list at the time of your portrait sitting. There is no charge for shipping and handling for your free portrait; shipping/handling for any additional portraits you order is $9.95.
How do I get proofs of my portraits?
You will have the opportunity to view your proofs immediately after your portraits are taken. At this time you will choose the pose for the pictorial directory, the pose you want for your free 8"x10" and any other poses you wish to order.
