Iron Men
"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." ~ Proverbs 27:17

The Men's Ministry at First Church provides a variety of opportunities for the men in our congregation to come together and enjoy Christian fellowship, discipleship, and mission.

As we grow, we are participating with other men in numerous worthwhile, fun, and faith-building activities. Our activities include an annual Golf Tournament in the Fall, Chili Bowl, Father/Child events, Fishing trips, Hunting trips, and service projects. Guest speakers, dinners, and Bible studies are held at various times throughout the year.

Men’s Event with Coach Kris Hogan of Faith Christian School
The Iron Men event with Coach Kris Hogan was wonderful! The food provided by Old West Cafe was out of this world. A special "Thanks" goes out to the First Church String Band who opened the evening with three great songs. Coach Hogan then took the stage with a powerful message. All who attended made this a special evening for all!

Chili Bowl Six Recap

We had a great time at Chili Bowl VI and the Elvis gospel concert!  The Iron Men raised over $1,500 at Chili Bowl and had the biggest crowd ever!  Our thanks to all of the great participants and to the First Church String Band for providing the entertainment.  Here are the results of the judging:

  • Judges Choice – 1st Place - Jarrod Treese and Clayton Palla’s “Hunk-A-Hunk-A Burnin’ Chili”

  • Seekers Class took 2nd and 3rd place.

  • New Life Class won “People’s Choice” by raising $175.50 in donations.

  • There was a tie for Best Presentation between Clowning Around and The Texans.

We had about 575 people at the Elvis Gospel Concert - another great turnout!  The offering taken up during the concert totaled about $3,100 to benefit Weekend Food.
