Welcome! You are in the right place if you are a woman between 20 and 90 who loves to fellowship with other “girlfriends.” You are in the right place if you need an occasional uplifting message and you like to have a meal prepared by someone other than yourself. The Well is the place to come 4-5 times a year to be replenished. Bring your friends for a “Ladies Night Out.” Bring a visitor to our church to help them “feel the warmth” and “find a niche.” Or you can come alone and find a great table of women ready to be your friend. In January, 2008 we will have our eighteenth meeting. Each evening God uses ordinary women to accomplish His extraordinary will and bless 100 women in the process. The Well is a place for you. “Come to the Water” is our theme. Become a woman at the Well in 2008. You will be glad you did!
Our website will also begin to have a few other resources like “Women books” on loan to our library. Devotionals are updated periodically. |

Cheri Kuptz presents
"I Am the Potter, You Are the Clay"
with music by OC Hailey

Are you serving God in your local community? At church, at school, at home? The speaker at the next gathering of The Well is doing just that. She is a lady just like you trying to help those around her find where they fit in God's Plan. Her topic will be "I am the Potter; You are the Clay." Come for an experience in how God can mold you and those around you to be what He has in mind for us.You won't be disappointed, the food and fellowship will be great.
Cheri Kuptz is a member of Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church in San Diego. She is a CLASS trained speaker and has led the women's retreat weekends at her church for numerous years. She also speaks at MOPS groups, National Charity League Events and fundraising events in her California area. Cheri is known by those who know and love her as “the connecter.” Cheri has a real heart for women, working in various ways to convey the message that God has made them uniquely different and to be comfortable with the person God has made them to be. Cheri, along with her speaking ministry, is also very busy in her job at Rancho Bernardo High School as an Art teacher and in Student Services, which works with at-risk teenagers. She and her husband Steve have three wonderful daughters, Whitney (23), Kelsey (21), and Amy (10) who all keep them laughing and full of joy.

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (NASB)
The secret to living with confidence is to be confident in God’s compassion and
power. He is the Almighty and everlasting God, and his power and compassion are
unlimited. We gain confidence by developing confidence in God and letting go of
confidence in ourselves.
When we think we have to do it on our own, or when we think we are doing it on
our own, we stand on an uncertain foundation, like the man who built his house
upon the sand. No matter how confident we are in ourselves, eventually the rains
will come, washing away our self-confidence.
But when we have God-confidence, we know – deep down – that we will always be
able to approach God’s throne of grace boldly with confidence – knowing “we will
receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it.” (Hebrews
4:16, NLT)
With God-confidence, we know we are loved and accepted by God; we know we are
created and shaped by God; we know we have talents and skills given to us by
God, and by understanding our true position in Christ, we can be confident that
God is with us always, even unto the ends of the earth, even when we open our
mouths to speak.
In faith, we can be confident, knowing God’s power is there, trusting God makes
it possible for us to do “all things through Him who strengthens me.”
(Philippians 4:13, NASB)
What does this mean?
• Transfer your confidence to God – Believe he is “working in you, giving you
the desire to obey him and the power to do what pleases him.” (Philippians 2:13,
NLT) Compare your track record to God’s and see which of you has proved to be
more trustworthy. If you believe your confidence should still remain with you,
ask God to help you dig deep to uncover why you believe that way. He is never
upset or surprised by such honesty.
• Trust God’s Spirit is working within you – Ask God to develop within you a
confidence that his Spirit will give you a supernatural power to preach good
news to the poor, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the
captives, and to release prisoners from the darkness. (Adapted from Isaiah
61:1-3)
• Why God-confidence is important to you – You may be thinking, “There’s
something I’d really like to do, but I don’t think that I can do it.” This kind
of thinking may keep you from even trying, but if you’re confident in God – and
what he can do through your life – then there’s every reason to move forward,
and no good reason to stand still.
• If you had God-confidence, how would the next few days of your life be
different?

Recap of The Well in March: Georgia Shaffer
How do your morning glories grow? If you were a woman who attended the March 13th Well you were given a packet of Morning Glory seeds. Those seeds were to remind you that unwanted gifts are often God's blessings in disguise. Georgia Shaffer shared the steps to negotiated difficult times and be conformed in the image of Christ as we journey through to the other side.
The Haynes Sisters blessed us with their spirit filled voices. Fellowship was sweet with old and new friends. God continues to utilize this ministry to reach women outside the church through an invitation to a friend. This Well was the first time for more than 30 women!
Tapes of this evening are now available for $10.00. If you have a friend or acquaintance that nees reminders of how to deal with loss, give her a gift of a CD that can be plugged in at just God's timing. For CD's, contact annwhailey@verizon.net and you can pick it up in the church office. Also past speaker tapes will be made available at the May 8, 2008 Well.

Recap of The Well in January: Tammy Maltby
The Biblical meaning of the word encourage means to "take courage." When do we need to take courage? When we are "pressing in" and walking beside someone who is hurting. We are often "God" to those people at that moment helping to carry their load.
Tammy Maltby shared these kinds of thoughts with 140 women on Thursday, January 17, at The Well. She blessed us, spurred us to action, and encouraged us with her genuine, vibrant, funny message. Cliff's provided delicious cuisine and the fellowship was wonderful. The Seekers class brought 3 tables! Ten women won a 2 for 1 ticket to the March 13 meeting. Tammy's book Confessions of a Good Christian Girl sold out.
CD's will be available for those who missed it. Email annwhailey@verizon.net for your copy. The purchase price is $7. |
Recap of The Well in November
Ladies who attended the Thursday, November 15, gathering of The Well were treated to a delicious vareity of salads and desserts. Wren Robinson and his family performed an awesome selection of songs. Our special guest speaker, Dr. Cindy Ryan, spoke on an important topic, "The Fear Factor." She reminded us that it's okay to be afraid to try something new and different. God wants us to be challenged to use our fear in a positive way as we serve him. It was an amazing evening! We are so blessed to have Cindy and Wren as part of our church family and staff.

Thelma Wells Visit
On September 13, 2007, Thelma Wells, a dynamic “Woman of Faith” blessed us with her traditional humor, wisdom, and spiritual guidance. Her topic “What These Girls Knew” reminded us that women of the Bible had similar difficulties to women today and if we stay in the “Word” we can find His guidance and hope in negotiating life. One-hundred-fifty women feasted on Mexican cuisine and delicious desserts, but mostly they feasted on spiritual food. Agape Voice sang If Ever I Needed the Lord Before and other selections. Newcomers and veteran members of the church shared fellowship, fun and other lives in a typical evening at The Well. See the pictures! Check the website frequently for upcoming events! You won’t want to miss a blessing!
