SEE the Good News! HEAR the Good News!
We know we aren't going to read much good news in the newspapers, and we aren't going to see and hear much good news by watching the news on TV, but it seems we keep trying to find it there. You might think I am wrong in what I am about to recommend because I know all too well we are all being overloaded with information coming at us from more directions than ever before... but hear me out, please! Of course the Best Good News is in the Bible. I want to encourage you to fill your cup with additional Good News! How? Invest more time and read some of the news that you don't think applies to you! By trying my suggestion either right now, or in the next few days, I think you will agree that you can get some of the GREATEST Good News right here in E-News and on the church website and on the church Facebook page.
Yep, it's true! For instance, Bob and I don't have "children" under our roof anymore, so if I didn't take time to click on the links Melissia puts within the Children's area, I would miss all of the incredible Good News about what Nathan and some great volunteers have the children of our church doing for the good of God! We used to have teens, but don't now. But if I didn't check out what Jenny and Payton have planned for our YOUTH, I'd be missing some GREAT Good News! Have you clicked on the links at the very bottom of ENews yet about connecting through social media? Wow, are you missing some incredibly Good News! And I know alot of you don't want to be on Facebook except to see photos you would never see of your family, grandchildren or friends, but by "liking" First United Methodist Church of Grapevine, you can really see and read alot more Good News! And who can't use more of that in your days?
I hear great church members say all the time "I didn't know that!" I can guarantee you that if you browse around on the church website you will be amazed at what kind of Good News you will find! Just the scrolling photo banners are enough to fill my cup with hope! Not to mention reading The Council on Ministries reports which are posted sharing plenty of Good News in our ministries reports!
I could go on and on, but Melissia keeps asking me not to. She is the main conveyor of all the great Good News that you can stay connected with, so please fill your cup by reading and seeing and hearing for yourself!
