Project Repair

The Grapevine Village is our mission focus area at Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park on Scribner St. In the past year we have held several get-togethers there and developed relationships with many of these neighbors. Some of the residents have become our partners in the Weekend Food and Feed Our Kids ministries. Project Repair is a new effort in the Grapevine Village to remodel existing homes. 

We have previously worked with the residents to fix sinks, broken windows and holes in floors, or added kitchen cabinets where there were none. However, many of the homes need more in-depth repairs. For "PROJECT REPAIR" we will select ONE trailer for a major makeover that will improve living conditions and safety. We hope to do 3-4 home makeovers in the coming year. Grapevine Village residents can submit their home as a candidate and tell us what they would like repaired. The family will commit to helping with their home repairs and/or those of their neighbors and partnering in other areas of service. Questions? Contact Donna Price at   or 817-903-7288.

Volunteer Skills Needed

• Laborers to remove carpet, flooring, shelving and appliances
• Painter with an airless sprayer
• Carpet layer
• Carpenter to hang pre-made cabinets, construct cabinets, install doors
• Handyman/woman to lay vinyl flooring
• General household cleaning 
• General roof repair
• General electrical skills for installation of switches, light fixtures and ceiling fans
• Handyman -  skilled at bathroom fixture replacement (tub enclosure, faucets and drains)
