A Note About Online Forms: We have been having some difficulty with our online forms (i.e. Check-In) in the past couple of weeks. We ARE receiving the forms, but when you submit the form, it fails to display the confirmation page and so you receive an error. We hope to have the problem fixed soon, but in the meantime you may still use the forms. Melissia will send a message confirming the receipt of your form.

WOW - Worship On Wednesdays

Summer vacations have you out of town on weekends? Join us throughout the summer for Worship on Wednesdays! We'll worship together at 6:30 PM each Wednesday in the Sanctuary at the Heritage Campus. There will be a different speaker each week and we'll have music provided by a variety of people. The sermon series will be on the Ten Commandments. Childcare is provided.

July 4 - ONE Worship Service and Pot Luck

On Sunday, July 4, we will all gather together in ONE WORSHIP SERVICE at 10:10 AM. Heritage Campus folks will also join us that Sunday morning for worship together. Rev. Louis Carr, the new Heritage Campus Pastor, will be speaking that morning. There will be no Sunday School.

The choir and orchestra will be presenting special Independence Day music. We would love to have you join us for this wonderful opportunity to celebrate our freedom in Christ and the Freedom we are blessed to enjoy in this great nation! Rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM. The choir will meet in the choir room and the orchestra will meet in the Sanctuary. Please join us or contact Wren at wrenr@fumcg.org or 817-726-7597 if you have questions or would like more information.

That Sunday is also Communion Sunday. If you would like to help serve communion, contact Dr. Cindy Ryan at cindyr@fumcg.org or 817-481-2559. We currently need 13 more servers!

Following worship on July 4, we will have an all-church Pot Luck Lunch in the Family Life Center, with entertainment by the First Church String Band! Meats, drinks and dessert will be provided. Please bring a vegetable or salad side dish to share. There is no need to RSVP... just bring a dish to share and come join us for a great day of fellowship!

We need volunteers that day to help set up, serve and clean up. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Barbara Maness at mscat83@verizon.net.

News to Change the World

Top Needs This Week
Money for food for Rwandan grandmother and three grandsons. Note "Rwanda food" on your check. Contact Trudy at trudyh@fumcg.org if you have questions.

First Saturday - Meet & Greet the Troops
Celebrate freedom this Independence Day weekend by joining us in welcoming home our heroes from Iraq and Afghanistan for their holiday leave. We'll meet and greet this Saturday, July 3, at DFW Airport Terminal D. Call the flight information line at 972-574-0392 late Friday night or very early Saturday morning for the recorded scheduled arrival time and location. Call again before leaving home to ensure no flight delay. Wear red, white and blue and bring a flag to wave! Parking vouchers are provided by the airport. Questions? Contact Donna Chabot (940-262-0366 or chabot113@juno.com).

Fresh Fruit Offering - July 11
Sunday, July 11, there will be a Fresh Fruit offering in support of Feed Our Kids. Please bring any type of Fresh Fruit and place it in the baskets on the table in the sanctuary foyer. The fruit will be used the following week as our church feeds 400 children a day during Feed Our Kids.

Feed Our Kids – July 12-16
It is time to get ready to Feed Our Kids! Our church will be serving lunches to 400 children every day the week of July 12-16 as part of the local Feed Our Kids program. Every week of the summer, Feed Our Kids provides lunch to over 400 children a day. These children are on free or reduced lunch during the school year. There are opportunities to make and serve lunches, to donate food for those lunches, and to help coordinate. See Check-In in this Sunday's bulletin to volunteer. A table will be set up outside the sanctuary for donations on June 27, July 4 and July 11. Thanks for helping with this wonderful local mission. It could be the best week of your summer! Questions? Contact Deb Scheiwe at debscheiwe@verizon.net or 817-412-1762.

Popsicle Party - July 14
On Wednesday, July 14, we'll be hosting a Popsicle Party from 7:00 to 8:30 PM for our neighbors at the Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park on Scribner! We are working to build community with the Grapevine Village, so several of our ministry teams - Evangelism, Project PASS (tutoring), Hispanic Ministries, Children and Youth Ministries, etc. - are teaming up for a fun family event with food, games, music and more! As we take steps to transform one of the poorest parts of Grapevine, relationships matter. Our hope is to continue to build goodwill, trust and an ongoing friendly presence at the Grapevine Village. If you would like to help with planning, food, publicity, games or serving that night contact Donna Price at adkins96@yahoo.com.

God Can for GRACE
Bring your non-perishable food items for the GRACE pantry to the designated bins in the Sanctuary Foyer, Founders Chapel Atrium and outside the church office. Click here for a current listing of GRACE's needs for the Food Pantry (pdf).

Mission Green Tip of the Week: Using Cruise Control
In general, cruise control does save gas, precisely because it maintains a constant speed until you tap the brake and slow down. Cruise control's main virtue is that it prevents involuntary acceleration, especially on long trips on flat roads--like where you start at sixty and somehow wind up at ninety with the highway patrol in hot pursuit. Now if you set the cruise control at ninety, it won't do much good, because gas mileage falls off rapidly when you get above fifty-five or sixty.

Ladies, we will be doing Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed: A Study of David for our summer study. The study features video presentations with Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and Kay Arthur. These three women explore their lives and the life of David in this six-session Bible study. The messages are divided into three segments, two lessons from each author. Each segment focuses on the life of David at a different stage of his life. You’ll laugh, cry, and learn to love God! The study begins Wednesday, July 7, and meets through August 11. Choose morning (9:30-11:30 AM) or evening (6:00-8:00 PM) session. Childcare available. Purchase the member guide at Lifeway Christian Store.

Travel Treasures
When you go on your summer or business travels, keep the Night in New Orleans Gala and Auction in mind! Come home with something special from your trip to donate to the auction. We've come up with a little game to help you have fun with it! Take a Mardi Gras mask (provided by us) and snap a photo of you and/or your auction item in that exotic (or not-so-exotic) locale. If you would like to pick up a Mardi-Gras mask to take with you when you travel, there will be a supply on the shelf by the reception desk in the church office. We’re challenging each Adult Sunday School class to get five Travel Treasure donations by September 12 (the day ticket sales begin). Here are the latest treasures...
