Be Sure You're Receiving Church E-Mails!

We have recently begun using Constant Contact for sending out our e-mails. In making this change, we have greatly decreased the number of people who are not receiving church e-mails. If you are still having problems with your e-mail provider blocking our e-mails, you might want to read Constant Contact's tips for preventing this occurence.

Another benefit of this service is that you can manage your subscription on your own. If at any time you would like to change your e-mail address, add another address, or remove yourself from our mailing list, simply follow the appropriate link at the bottom of one of our e-mails.

Here are some other steps you can take to help ensure that you receive mail from us.  If you do not use the Yahoo/SBC web interface, skip down to the instructions for Outlook users.

If you are using the web interface (SBC/Yahoo):

  • Click on "Options" (on the far right-hand side toward the top)

  • Click on "Filters"

  • Click "Add"

  • When the form comes, up, enter a name for this filter to allow you to identify it again - perhaps you could use "FUMCG"

  • On the next section down, it should read "From header contains:" - enter "fumcg.org" (without the quotes)

  • On the next section, it should read "Then... Move the message to:" change the setting on the drop-down menu to "Inbox"

So the screen will look like this:

Then, click on "Add Filter" (it's a button on the bottom left hand side). And you're done!

If you use Outlook, these are the instructions:

  • In Outlook, on the main menu bar at the top, go to Actions > Junk Mail > Junk Email Options

  • A dialogue box will come up - click on the tab that says "Safe Senders"

  • Click "Add..."

  • Enter "fumcg.org" (without the quotes)

  • Click OK

  • Click OK

Some e-mail services, such as Road Runner, may filter your messages before they ever reach you.  If this is the case, you may need to contact your service provider directly to request that they allow you to receive all messages from "fumcg.org,"  If you are still experiencing difficulty getting emails from the church, please contact the church office at 817-481-2559 to let us know!
