Mother’s Day is coming up Sunday, May 11! Once again, we are offering you a unique gift-giving opportunity. Honor your mom this Mother's Day by helping another mom! Your gift will go to help single moms who are struggling right here in Grapevine. Drop your gift by the church office or place your gifts in an offering envelope (found in the pew racks) on Sunday morning and designate it to "GRACE Moms." Here's an idea of what your gift can do for a struggling mom:
- $500 provides safe childcare for a family.
- $300 provides a rental subsidy.
- $150 pays for a utility bill.
- $75 purchases a medical prescription for a sick child.
- $50 buys perishable food items.
- $25 provides gas to enable a Mom to seek employment.
If you'd like a card to give to your mom to let her know about your gift, there are some available in the church office and at the Welcome Center in the Sanctuary Foyer.
Many of you have already received a tax rebate check in the mail! It is designed to stimulate the economy. The government hopes we will spend our checks quickly and freely and give our economy a boost. Some will spend their checks on consumer goods, some will save them, some may use them to pay off debt but no matter what you do, we’d like to suggest you remember to give 10% to the church. We will take that resource and use it to meet the needs of children in our community. We will work with GRACE and others to seek out the most pressing, important and immediate needs. Please make a note on your gifts, “Tithe for Tots”, so we will know where to direct these funds. |
We are richly blessed! God has entrusted many gifts to each of us, both financially and spiritually. We are called to be good stewards of these gifts by using them to further the Kingdom of God.
