Your Faith Prayer Guide
Ownership. Lord,
You own the world and everything in it. All that I have belongs to
you.
(Psalm 24:1; 1 Chronicles 29:14)
Make us a house of
prayer! We want to pray first, always, and continually with
thanks. May each of us recognize that this is Your desire for all, not
just the few. Transform us into righteous people whose prayers are
powerful and effective.
(Isaiah 56:7; 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18; James 5:16b)
Generosity. Thank
You, so much, Father, for the indescribable gift of Your Son! Thank
You that Your divine power has given us everything we need for life
and godliness through the knowledge of Him.
(2 Corinthians 9:15; 2 Peter 1:3)
Contentment and
Trust. Father,
forgive me for worrying that I might not have enough to live on. I see
evidence of Your faithfulness all around me. I choose now to stop
worrying and instead I ask You to show me how I may support our church
for Your glory. Thank You for always providing exactly what I need.
(Matthew 6:25-31; Philippians 4:6,19)
Gratitude. Lord,
as I come to know You and Your ways, I am continually grateful for all
things and for every circumstance – even the difficulties You allow
for my growth. I will give You thanks every day. Today I am grateful
for the opportunity to lift this congregation up to do Your will for
the direction of this church that it may show Your glory.
(Ephesians 5:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Job 1:21)
Lordship. I
resolve to never trust in wealth or to let it master me. You and You
alone are my only Master. (Psalm 49:12, 16-17; Proverbs 11:28; Matthew
6:24)
Stewardship. I
relinquish my owner mentality, that I might faithfully manage what You
have entrusted to me, remembering always that I am accountable for its
use. (Matthew 25:14-30; 1 Corinthians 4:2)
Remind us that
sharing with others is a pleasing sacrifice to You. Keep us outwardly
focused so we don’t become self-absorbed. Enable us to extend
mercy to people in need. (Hebrews 13:16)
Giving Joyfully. Father,
I choose to give cheerfully, willingly and without hesitation, just as
You have given so cheerfully, willingly and without hesitation to me.
(2 Corinthians 9:7; Leviticus 1:3 [NKJV]; Ephesians 5:1-2)
May we sow generously
into our church without any reluctance or compulsion. Make grace
abound so we have the finances we need to do every good work
You have assigned us. Make us rich in ways that result in generosity
so You will be praised and glorified.
(2 Corinthians 9:6-11)
Giving Sacrificially.
In light of
Your love, it is a privilege to give even out of poverty. I choose to
trust You enough to give beyond my apparent ability.
(1 Kings 17:8-16; Mark 12:41-44; 2 Corinthians 8:1-4)
Supporting
Ministries. You
have instructed us to support those in ministry. May our gifts enable
this church to serve You more fully as we advance Your kingdom and
Your glory locally and abroad. (1 Corinthians 9:11-14)
Let our youth
workers set examples in speech, life, love, faith, and purity.
Cause them to be strong, alive-in-the-Word overcomers. Give them
complete discernment to deal with troubled youth as they teach them
Your life-giving principles. (1 Timothy 4:12; 1 John 2:14)
Giving For God’s
Glory. Father,
You are the One who makes me rich in every way so that I can always be
generous. I want my generosity to result in thanksgiving and glory to
You, not to me. (2 Corinthians 9:11)
May the hurting come
to know You as El Roi, the God who sees them. Bind up the broken
hearted. Set the captives free. Replace mourning with Your oil of
gladness. Comfort them that they may have a ministry to others.
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Genesis 16:13; Isaiah 61:1-3)
Increase our numbers
through new converts. Let the Gospel be presented to the lost among
us with power, the Holy Spirit, and deep conviction, not only through
the words of the sermon, but also through our lives. Teach us to make
the most of every opportunity as our church spreads the fragrance of
Christ. (Acts 2:47;
1 Thessalonians 1:5; Colossians 4:5; 2 Corinthians 2:15)
Spending. Because
everything I have is Yours, I will seek Your glory in every financial
decision. Specifically, ______ (consult Him about the decisions you
are making now as they pertain to His will for the direction of this
church).
(1 Chronicles 29:11; Proverbs 3:6; 1 Corinthians 10:31)
Treasures In Heaven. I
gladly store up for myself treasures in heaven, where nothing can
destroy them or take them away. I choose to shift the focus of my
heart from earthly possessions toward heaven where my home and my
lasting treasure are – with You. (Matthew 6:19-21)
Lord, what is Your
will in my life in this matter as it relates to Your will for our
church at this time? What do You want to do through me as it affects
what You are trying to do through our church? Amen.
