Be Our Guest ~ Neighborhood Meal
"I come away from these dinners with a sense of peace and quiet joy, similar to the feelings I had as a child after Wednesday night church dinners in Virginia. The years in between have not always been safe or even happy, but coming now to these dinners is like truly coming home. Kind people of all ages--children carefully pouring tea and water, young adults hosting and listening and telling us about their families. The late writer John Updike wrote that we can become "islanded" in our later years, separated by distance and divorce and death from those we once knew and loved and shared our lives with. These Tuesday night dinners comfort us and heal us and make us feel less alone."

Be Our Guest, a neighborhood meal, is served the third Tuesday of each month 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Family Life Center. This is a home-style meal, open to everyone - individuals, couples and families. You don't have to attend our church, just be our guest for a great meal!
Church members serve as table hosts, cooks, dishwashers and food servers. Everyone in the community is invited. The meal is free and no reservations are required. Map & Directions
Be Our Guest Neighborhood Meal is in need of Spanish speaking table hosts. The role of a table host is to greet our guests and eat with them at our Neighborhood Meal for those in need living near the church. We have noticed that several families attended who only spoke Spanish. We feel we could be more welcoming to those families if a few more of our table hosts were able to speak some Spanish.
