Blood Drive to Benefit Sam Fleming
Sam Fleming is a 4 year-old student of our CLC program who is fighting neuroblastoma cancer. Our Blood Drive on Thursday, April 17, will benefit Sam. The Drive will be from 4:00 to 7:30 PM in Leach Hall. All donors receive T-shirt, a mini-physical including blood pressure and iron level check at the time of donation and cholesterol results following their donation. Carter Bloodcare is the local blood bank that provides 99 percent of all blood transfusion needs for the Metroplex and surrounding 28 counties. It requires around 900 donors per day to meet the growing blood needs of our area and it is only made possible through the generosity of the donors from our community. One out of every three people will need blood at some time in their life. Cancer and Leukemia patients are the primary users of blood products. Blood from each donor is separated into three elements; red cells, plasma and platelets, touching and saving three different lives.
