OMS International
Latest Update - Spring 2008 pdf
Paul Cox joined OMS, International in 2001 and is currently serving as a career missionary in Madrid, Spain. He and Dawn were married one year later and have been serving in the capital city together since 2002. Possessing a deep love for Spaniards and a passion to reach the nation for Christ, they have made a long-term commitment to work and serve alongside a team of nationals who are currently sharing the Gospel in Madrid.
Paul serves as an assistant to the pastor and elders at Iglesia Cristiana Evangélica de Chamartín, the Spanish church where they serve. Having been a headhunter for 9 years, he is using his business experience to reach the business professionals for Christ in Madrid through the formation of a network of Christian business professionals and missionaries. Paul and Dawn continue to oversee the English evangelism ministry at church and teach classes as outreach in both the church and neighborhood where they live.
Dawn is an ordained deaconess, a gifted singer and guitar player, and a talented Bible study leader. She currently sings and plays the guitar with the worship group at church.
In 1987, at the age of 17, God placed within Dawn His desire for her to serve as a foreign missionary. In 1992, as a college student at The University of Texas-Arlington, she traveled to Spain to study Spanish as a second language. Dawn was not only moved by the immense need for God’s hope here, she returned with a strong conviction to live in Spain someday. In fact, the 1992 trip would mark the first of five trips to Spain in a nine-year span. Three years ago, her fourteen year-old call to missions intersected with Paul’s, and now God has led two lives to take one path.
Paul is a graduate of Texas A&M University and, before surrendering to the call to missions, was a corporate recruiter in the Chicago and Fort Worth areas for nine years. Dawn is a 1993 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a BA in Social Work. In 1999 she obtained an MA in Spanish from the University of North Texas.
The Coxes have two children: Samuel Wallace and Benjamin Caleb.
OMS International—an evangelical faith mission formerly known as The Oriental Missionary Society--reaches the nations for Christ through evangelism, theological training, and church planting in Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa, and then joins with those churches to reach the rest of the world.
