Feed Our Kids was started by a few moms in conjunction with GRACE to provide lunches to children who are on free or reduced lunch programs during the school year. Every week of summer break, different organizations provide lunch and some recreation time to children in three apartment complexes in the Grapevine/Colleyville school district. Our church participates for one week of the summer.

Thanks to all of you who donated fruit, chips and drinks, made sandwiches, served lunches and handed out Bibles. Thank you to those who responded to the e-blast for more food! It was a wonderful week, full of great moments. Because of your giving spirit, we were able to more than double the number of children we fed last year.
There were so many great moments: a young boy going to get his lunch wearing his backpack from the day before (the tags still dangling); a mother bringing out her old and tattered Bible, the only one she owned until her child received their new one; an email from a group this week telling of a Grandmother who had started a Bible Study in her apartment using the Bibles we handed out. The church, at its best, reaching out to those in need. It doesn’t get any better than that. Thank you!
