Project Read
Project Read is in need of volunteers to read one-on-one with a child. Project Read is gearing up for fall reading slots with struggling readers at Cannon, Timberline and Silverlake elementary schools within GCISD. We schedule readers for 30 minute time slots during the school day at the school of your choice, time of your choice. GCISD requires a background check. Sign up on Check-In online or in this Sunday's bulletin to let us know you are interested in learning more. Questions? Contact Joan O'Brien 817-329-6649 or (jobrien2000@msn.com).
Project Read is once again partnering with GCISD this summer to provide support to struggling readers. The district Summer Reading Program will be held at Timberline Elementary June 7- July 2 . The program will run Monday through Friday with four possible time slots per day. Join Project Read in this great, short-term opportunity to serve the Ministry Mile this summer! Parents and teens are also welcome to work as a team to provide support to the children. Just choose a day of the week and time that fits your schedule to help us serve the community! Sing up on Check-In online or in Sunday's bulletin Questions? Contact Joan O’Brien (jobrien2000@msn.com or 817-329-6649).
Project Read accepts new or gently used children’s books as needed throughout the year. For questions contact Joan O’Brien.
Project Read is currently collecting Box Tops for Education to help with fundraising activities in the schools we serve. Box Tops can be found on most General Mills products – a list of Box Top products is in the church office. Just cut the Box Tops off of the product packages and put them in the collection container located in the church office. Help us help the schools we serve! For more information about Box Tops for Education visit their website: www.boxtops4education.com. Questions? Contact Joan O'Brien 817-329-6649 or (jobrien2000@msn.com).
