We have been on a forty-day journey to change the way we feel about prayer, church attendance, acts of service, and even financial giving.  The program is called Transformed Living and it is intended to help all of us realize our full stewardship potential.  In fact, this program is designed to help our church move forward as a unified team and discover new levels of commitment around our prayers, our presence, our gifts and our service.  Prayers, presence, gifts and service are the true treasures from God on which we build our lives as individuals and as church families.  This program will provide all of us a common foundation for digging deeper in our faith.

If you have not turned in your commitment and would still like to, please mail or bring your form to the church office, place it in the offering plate on Sunday, or submit your commitment online.

Service Training/Organization Meetings

There has been some question as to when 2007 teams finish their service.  We ask that all current teams serve through the end of January in order to give new volunteers the time to train.

With hundreds of individuals making commitments to serve God through First United Methodist Church in 2008, it is time to start thinking about organizing and training people to serve. Each of the service areas fell under one of the six categories of discipleship, fellowship, missions, compassion, evangelism and worship. Each of these categories will have a Sunday in January set aside to train/organize each of the service areas. Here is the schedule:

Sunday, January 6, 3:30 to 5:00 PM:  Worship Ministries
Sunday, January 13, 2:00 to 3:30 PM:  Missions Ministries
Sunday, January 13, 3:30 to 5:00 PM:  Compassion Ministries
Sunday, January 20, 2:00 to 3:30 PM:  Fellowship Ministries
Sunday, January 20, 2:30 to 3:30 PM:  Safe Sanctuaries Training
Sunday, January 20, 3:30 to 5:00 PM:  Discipleship Ministries (includes Adult, Student, Children)
Sunday, January 27, 3:30 to 5:00 PM:  Evangelism Ministries
(Note that Discipleship and Evangelism training dates have switched.)

Each training/organization session will begin with a large group gathering in Founders Chapel, followed by individual ministry area meetings.
